Why don't you come up with riddles for your survivors? While tending your pretty flowers you get an idea.The bugs grow large as a cat, when they finish the last leaf in your poor garden. The poison must have triggered a side effect: Super growth.They devour massive amounts of vegetation and start to grow visibly.There are some, though that continue eating and don't show signs of slowing down.Some fall dead on the ground, others just fly away in desperation. But soon, the bugs start to react to the poison.They heedlessly gnaw the leaves down until nothing is left. The bugs don't seem to notice the poison.You crush the fine leaves of the exotic plant into fine powder and apply it all over the garden.Maybe you could coat the leaves with the poison to kill the bugs off.There is a plant in the jungle that produces an extremely poisonous powder.When in doubt just burn it all down to the ground! What could go wrong?.Better not tell the survivors what you did.As you walk around camp, you can't lose the feeling of being watched.With time all the wasps are gone, same with the chameleons.The big lizards change colors to blend in with the environment and start picking off wasps one by one with their sticky tongues. You populate the garden with chameleons.(so far this is the only option without receiving penalty or spending resources).This will make the working covered in spider silk worthwhile.
Maybe you could make some high end rope using spider silk.The web is surprisingly strong for its thickness.You will be able to tell the newly found wisdom to your survivors and increase their skills by 1. The garden is saved! You have learned something today.The birds think it is an animated straw man from hell and fly away as fast as they can. You build a simple scarecrow and it seems to work.Would a simple scarecrow be your salvation from this mess? You don't dare to hope.Some are still hungry and start circling your humble food storage. The terror from above feasts on the spider colony until all the webs are gone.They will eat up all the spiders and then peacefully go away. You can't even walk in the garden anymore without being covered in sticky web fibers.With food surplus, the spiders multiply and take over the niche left behind the wasps.They make huge webs that catch the wasp population totally by surprise. The eight legged monsters quickly adapt to the new garden environment.You are already knee-deep in this ecological catastrophe, adding a few spiders shouldn't make that big difference.You could get some and get rid of your wasp problem once and for all. There is a species of spider that makes huge webs and is specialized in catching wasps.With food abundance, they have multiplied and have turned into a nuisance themselves. You are proud of your successful attempt at biological warfare.After a while all the bugs have been eaten by the flying killing machines. Maybe if you would get some specimens, they could eat some of the bugs and scare away the rest?.There is a type of wasp on the island that absolutely loves these kinds of bugs for dinner.You try to shoo the bugs away, but they are super gross, with long antennae and creepy furry legs and all that.A bug infestation has hit your garden hard.
